The Town contracts with RJD Appraisal to provide assessing services. The Assessor Agent is in the Town Office one day per month, typically the 1st Thursday of each month. To meet with the Assessor, call 207-437-2900 to schedule an appointment. Email

Information from our Assessors’ Agent
For most of the following programs, the application must be submitted to the Assessors’ Agent by April 1st.
2025 Homestead Exemption – If you did not file for the Homestead Exemption in 2024 or prior years, you must apply prior to April 1, 2025 to be eligible in 2025. If you have been receiving the homestead application in the past, you do not need to reapply unless your home ownership status has changed.
Veteran Exemption for Real Estate Taxes – If you are aged 62 or older, or an un-remarried spouse of a deceased veteran who would have been 62 by April 1, 2025; you or your deceased spouse served during a federally recognized war period; or if you are a veteran who receives federal funds for total disability, and you have a primary residence in Albion, you may be eligible for the veteran’s exemption.
Renewable Energy Equipment Exemption- All power generated by the equipment in this application must be used on site and/or subject to a utility bill credit of a transmission and distribution facility.
Landowner Tax Relief Programs – There are three programs for which you might be eligible. The programs are: The Maine Tree Growth Tax Law, Farm Classification Law, and The Open Space Tax Law. As the laws for these programs are quite detailed, please make an appointment with the assessors’ agent at 437-2900
