Albion is a rural community located on the Northeast side of Kennebec County in Central Maine. With a total area of 39.46 square miles (38.83 sq miles land, .63 sq miles water) Albion is home to just over 2,000 people in approximately 916 households.

Previously called Freetown, Fairfax and Lagonia
Incorporated March 9, 1804, the 151st Town
Part set off to China, June 5, 1818
Name changed to Lagonia, March 10, 1821
Name changed to Albion, February 25, 1824
Part of Unity Plantation annexed March 30, 1852

*Town Office is CLOSED on all state observed holidays and for ALL state and federal elections.

*NO new registrations will be processed 15 minutes prior to closing.  This includes vehicles, trailers, ATV, snowmobiles and boats.
